- We have a no-hassle full refund policy.
We are a regular magazine subscription, not a "book of the month" program. As a team, we have decided that there are certain business practices in the magazine industry that we just don't do. The most important is that we NEVER sell or rent our customer information.
Blue Lake Children's Publishing Privacy Policy
Blue Lake Children's Publishing, the publisher of The Tessy & Tab Reading Club, is committed to protecting the privacy of our online visitors. We do not collect information from children. The e-commerce section of our Web site is intended for use by parents and other visitors 18 years of age or older. By using our online order process, a customer is representing himself or herself as 18 years of age or older.
Information Collected On Our Site
We collect information provided by the customer when placing an order.
Mailing Addresses
We collect mailing addresses for three reasons:
- To mail our advertising-free magazines to children twice a month.
- To process credit card orders as required by our merchant account.
- To send renewal notices in the event that we do not have your email address.
Email Addresses
We collect email addresses for three reasons:
- To send the Tessy & Tab Grown-up Guide, the advertising-free companion email that lets parents know what the next issue is, and how to use it to build their child's early reading skills.
- To send parents the monthly advertising-free eNewsletter, Clever Currents, which features the latest thinking in early childhood development.
- To send parents or gift-givers the renewal notices for their child's subscription. Processing renewals via email saves us all time and money and allows us to use less paper and fuel for printed mail delivery.

Telephone Numbers
If you give us your telephone number online, we may contact you with questions regarding orders you have placed. Your telephone number will NOT be used for any marketing solicitation and will NOT be shared with any third party.
Credit Card Information
Your credit card and transaction information is private. Our secure browser technology ensures that no one outside of our professional billing staff will have access to your credit card information. We encrypt all credit card and billing information using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Technology during the order transaction using a secure server. Your credit card information is never shared with a third party.
General Web Browser and Visitor Information
We collect general browsing information about your visit to our site in order to measure the number of visitors to the different sections of our site, and to help us improve the usability of our site.
